A perfume company is suing Prince and his music publisher for failing to honor a contract to help market a fragrance named for one of the musician’s albums. Revelations Perfume and Cosmetics Inc. says it put $2.5 millioninto the project, but since launch of the fragrance in July 2007, Prince has failed to participate in promotions for it.
Language from the law suit read as follows: “Since July 2007, despite repeated attempted by Revelations, there have been virtually no communications from anyone who could commit to or coordinate any promotional efforts by Prince.”
A current award of $3.95 million has been awarded by a court referee and is pending November 1st confirmation from a judge.
Prince’s lawyer told the New York Law Journal that the singer would fight to prevent the ruling from being confirmed.
