Non Review by: Mut “breaks over” Asheru
They got me writing music reviews again y’all. At least they tryin. Why? Corbyn says my voice is still relevant. Hmm…don’t know about that but I do know an artist that may still have a thing to say and say well. Bavu Blakes y’all. His SANCT EP is one that should still be in your playlist if it ain’t already. This is one of those magical pieces that everybody here can groove to and since writing album reviews is kind of painful for me we came up with the Share-a-Piece idea. I’ve decided that sharing the music that we can all agree on here is healing. Rather than dissect…I’d rather illuminate. Turn you on to what I feel is good.
From track 1 Bavu’s energizing and fierce wordplay rings through the speakers and radiates up the spinal cord in a blissful assault on the senses. Take a listen and see if ‘Don’t Turn Me Down‘ and ‘Fine/Great‘ don’t take you to that hot-damn-me place. This man’s mind and the way he put’s his words together are hard to surpass. Sure a lot of artists are great at word play. That’s what this rap thang is about anyhow. But you know when you’re in the presence of greatness. The electric tingle cannot be faked. 5 tracks of get right with oh-my-gawd production and music provided by some gold players. Produced by Reggie Coby with D Madness on the bass! Come on…
It’s been out for a minute but it’s timeless. I mean it.
But this ain’t a review. It’s a psst…hey…I got some good good for ya. Sharing hip-hop greatness, because how can I not?
