Blue Starlite Mini Urban Drive-In Announces

A Break From the Break: Labor Day at the Drive-In

Summer says goodbye as Austin’s drive-in starts settling in for the fall

AUSTIN, Texas— Sweltering summers are no stranger to anyone living in Austin. When it’s a hundred degrees in the day, it’s hard to enjoy a nice night out under the stars. That’s why Austin’s boutique drive-in—recognized on NBC Nightly News, USA Today, and History Channel—decided to hit the road. The driving drive-in took a quick detour to Miami and will be opening a new sister location in the city’s popular Wynwood District. Already garnering quite a bit of buzz, the boutique drive-in was feature on Miami’s Deco Drive, Thrillist’s “Miami You Absolutely Need to Know About”, Miami New Times and more. Fret not Austin, for the return of mini drive-in is set for Labor Day weekend and the entire family is invited.

Breaking away and headed back to Austin for Labor Day weekend, the drive-in’s going back in time with a double feature of The Breakfast Club and Office Space on Saturday. And since there won’t be any reason to get up early for school on Monday, Blue Starlite’s keeping it fun for the fam with a screening of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off Sunday night. Can’t get away for the day? Fret not, as summertime nights become cool, crisp autumn breezes Blue Starlite will be bringing the flicks back out in full force for the fall.

Early sunsets and longer nights soon lie ahead. To celebrate cooler weather and the drive-in’s new fall season, Blue Starlite will feature new classics in variety of movie nights like Date Night, Family Night, and Double Feature Night. Blue Starlite Mini-Urban Drive In

As where other modern drive-ins are sprawling, rural affairs, the Blue Starlite is designed to happen right in the heart of the city. In a busy city—Josh decided—this concept requires less space and is more exclusive, more personal, and much more convenient.

With a mix of nostalgia, and modern design, The Blue Starlite has tapped into a longing for a more social, less isolated movie-going experience. Since Frank opened his first ‘Mini Urban Drive-in’, he has upgraded from an alleyway fitting 18 cars to a lot on a local movie studio with a 50-car capacity. He is currently opening his second location in the Miami Wynwood District.
